VM ZINC’s range includes solid zinc roofing, cladding, facade and zinc rainscreen systems in a variety of colours, to meet the most complex design requirements. It also supplies a range of rainwater goods as well as decorative roofing items such as weather vanes and finials which can be made to individual specification. Due to the use of unique manufacturing techniques, products can be supplied with a pre-weathered appearance which provides a self-protecting patina and continues to age in the normal manner. Being a natural product, it provides a ’living skin’ which requires very little maintenance. Zinc is 100% recyclable and in Western Europe, more than 90% of zinc used in construction is currently being recycled. VM Zincs service is based on the maintenance of detailed technical support to architects, main contractors and roofers throughout their projects, to ensure that products’ life cycle routinely exceeds 40 years.
Zinc Roofing Systems
Zinc standing seam roofing solutions can accommodate straight and curved designs of significant complexity, thus providing great scope for design creativity. VM Zinc Standing seam is suitable for roofs with a pitch above 3 degree, and available in standard widths of 530 mm, though non-standard widths can also be produced between 60 and 600 mm. VM ZINC PLUS is a standing seam system for warm roofs which can be installed on mineral wool or PIR insulation without ventilating the underside.
Zinc Cladding, Facade & Rainscreen Systems
Standing seam, flat lock, overlapping and interlocking zinc cladding systems are available for both vertical and horizontal application in a wide variety of colours, VM Zinc’s interlocking panel facade systems having been the first in the UK to achieve BRE certification (BRE137/07). Self-supporting, sine wave profiles and an overlapping panel system are also available. Such facade solutions provide a visually distinctive character and neat, contemporary appearance.
Pluline Zinc Rainwater Goods
A comprehensive range of PLULINE zinc rainwater goods, designed for houses and conservatories, is available in pre-weathered QUARTZ-ZINC and ANTHRA-ZINC. Delivered in kit form, it uses concealed brackets, stop ends, corners, running outlets, zinc downpipes and self-locking pipe brackets. PLULINE is available in half round, box and OG profiles.
Heritage Refurbishment and Restoration
Zinc is a lightweight and safe alternative to lead and ages in a similar manner. As a result, VM Zinc is routinely involved in specifications for roofing restoration projects throughout Europe. In the UK it has supplied material for a number of listed properties.
Zinc and Copper details
Deco’Toit is a range of decorative items such as finials and weathervanes of varying design, made in zinc and copper. It also extends to details such as dormers, balustrades and bulls eye windows.

VMZINC landmark for £100m college development
February 2012
Austin Smith Lord’s design of the £100m Stockport College redevelopment forms part of the ‘Future Stockport’ renewal programme. It is one of 18 prime VMZINC projects worldwide to be featured in the latest edition of the company’s ‘Focus on Zinc’. 8,000m2 of flat lock zinc, interlocking and sine wave horizontal panels were used all of which were in pre-weathered ANTHRA-ZINC®. The dark facades complement the glazing and provide the desired landmark feature for the college. Other projects featured range from education and healthcare to cultural and conference centres, office buildings, private homes and the new Madame Tussauds in Los Angeles.
Bespoke VMZINC for London’s Wallace Collection
January 2012
Zinc market leader VMZINC will be on stand N1520 exhibiting its pre-weathered façade, roofing and rainwater systems. In addition to recent high profile projects such as Titanic Belfast, the company has also supplied zinc fabricated to bespoke requirements for the Mint Hotel Tower of London and the world renowned Wallace Collection in Manchester Square. This entailed provision of oriel windows (now used as vents) and skylights fitted at the zinc ridge and above a traditional slate mansard roof.
