ISOKERN products are made with Volcanic pumice.
Isokern pumice flue blocks are resistant to temperature change as pumice does not expand or contract with temperature change. This reduces the possibility of cracking and structural damage that can occur with other flue products. The high insulation properties of pumice are able to maintain the temperature of flue gases when other products have allowed the temperature to fall below the dew point. The high insulation properties also mean that heat is not transmitted to the outside. Lightweight Pumice is strong yet lightweight allowing one person to lift and build the chimney units.
The ISOKERN Range.
ISOKERN products can be used for new chimneys and for the refurbishment of existing chimneys. The ISOKERN systems provide a lightweight, easily installed and versatile chimney which can be used internally or externally. The systems are suitable for use with gas, oil, solid fuel and wood burning stoves and open fires in new and refurbished projects. They are ideal for timber frame and steel framed buildings. ISOKERN chimneys have been installed in Europe for over 60 years.
Pumice Flue liners.
The ISOKERN pumice flue liner range consists of round & oval liners in a wide variation of diameters to suit both domestic and commercial applications. The flue liners can be used to reline an existing chimney as well as in new build.
Isokoat Flue sealing system.
The ISOKOAT system is an efficient and cost effective method of re-sealing a defective chimney shaft. The Isokoat material is applied to the chimney under pressure and forced into the cracks and fissures sealing them, re-pointing the joints and strengthening the walls.
Clay Chimney Flue Liners.
Schiedel Chimney Systems also offer a comprehensive range of clay flue liners. Over four million homes built since the 1940’s have chimneys with clay flue liners. Clay flue liners chimneys are suitable for heating appliances using gas and oil and solid fuel including coal, wood and peat.
Clay flue liners are impermeable and do not allow condensates or flue gases to pass through to cause acid attack to the chimney. With a working temperature of 600 °C, clay flue liners are also resistant to a soot fire of 1000 °C and also act as barrier against the spread of a chimney fire into the building. Flue liners should be specified to the requirements of BS EN 1457:1999 Clay/ceramic flue liners – Requirements and Test Methods.
...Chimney pots, ridge tiles and air bricks.
Schiedel also supply an extensive range of chimney pots, associated lintels and firebacks. Mortar bedded and dry fix ventilating clay ridge tiles and clay air bricks.
