Filon Products Limited have, for over 50 years, manufactured translucent Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) roofing and GRP cladding sheets.

GRP Cladding & Rooflight Profiles.
Filon now offer over 900 different profiles as part of its standard range of GRP rooflights. We are also able to match most European metal, fibre cement and cladding profiles enabling Filon to supply not only new GRP rooflights but also replace broken and degraded rooflights. Filon supply Class B non-fragile rooflights that are fire resistant to Class 1 under BS476 Parts 3 and 7.

Over Roofing Old Profiled & Asbestos Roofs.
Filon have also developed a unique method of repairing asbestos cement or fibre cement roofs. Over time profiled cement roofing can degrade, crack and collect moss. Asbestos roofing is expensive to remove and the HSE require the least disturbance of asbestos roofing and prefer safe containment instead of removal. Filons over roofing system satisfy these requirements and at the same time can improve thermal efficiency of the roof. As Filon can match nearly any roof corrugated roof profile, Filon’s over-roofing system can be laid over most roofs and allows the incorporation of insulation. This can raise the roof by only 60mm and requires no planning permission as the sheets match the existing profiles.

Replacing Rooflights the Safe Way.
Filon’s Fixsafe system has been developed for the replacement of sheeting or rooflights from the underside thereby removing the dangers of working on fragile roofs. This system allows the client, agent and contractors to be able to fully comply to the HSE Working At Height Regulations 2005 when working on fragile roofs.

Dome Skylights & Barrel Vault Rooflights.
Filon also supply wet laid GRP products as well as flat roof domes,
GRP or our unique multi-wall polycarbonate panels have a patented jointing system. Filon supply and manufacture factory assembled polycarbonate barrel rooflights which will span from 2 metres up to 8 metres.

GRP Recycling of Old Rooflights.
Filon have recently introduced recycling of GRP waste back into their products. This is a first in the UK and follows a major investment programme. It is envisaged that within the next few years old GRP rooflights will be taken back for recycling.

Chemical Resistant & Aggressive Atmospheres.
Nearly all of Filon’s products are ideal for aggressive, chemical and coastal atmospheres where other materials would quickly corrode. Filon also manufacture flat GRP cladding which is ideally suitable for hygienic cladding. Along with the Filon Factory Assembled Rooflights and general rooflights, Filon’s supply GRP sheets for signage, the advantage of having no monetary gain from being melted down. GRP roof valleys, non slip surfaces and polycarbonate roof sheets are also available.
