Component Developments Designed Stainless Steel Floor Drainage to Five Pancras Square
April 2018

FIVE PANCRAS SQUARE
Five Pancras Square is the new headquarters of Camden. The facility houses a state of the art leisure centre with two pools, a fitness centre, a library, a café as well as the Councils customer access centres and administrative offices. As well as being one of Camden’s most accessible leisure centres, Five Pancras Square is also one of the greenest buildings in the UK.
Component Developments was approached to design, manufacture and supply the stainless steel floor drainage solution to the new-build. Component Developments used their compact drainage channel profile due to depth restrictions on site. This provides a continuous slot along its length which is maintained by small spacer bars at every 300mm.
As there is no grating required it has proven itself to not only be more cost effective, but also easier to clean and maintain. It only requires being washed with a hose to clear the system and maintain a hygienic system.
The final drainage solution was a run of compact drainage channel through the changing and locker room areas, not only helping take away surface water but to create a barrier. Component Developments also supplied access covers where necessary with infill trays suitable for the tiles used.
Overall the final solution supplied was an effective, sustainable and safe drainage solution for this state of the art leisure centre.
